We’re Tickled Pink…

This year we’ll be celebrating twelve years of Tickled Pink, ASDA’s dedicated breast Cancer charity which was launched in 1996 to raise money for, and help, people diagnosed with breast cancer.

Since our first year of campaigning back in 1997 we’ve raised over £19 million through fundraising and the sale of ‘pink products’. Every year, 44,000 women and 300 men are diagnosed with Breast Cancer, with over 100 people a day in the UK being told they have breast cancer – 1 every 15 minutes.

Tickled Pink now benefits two breast cancer charities, Breast Cancer Campaign and Breast Cancer Care to which donations go.

Let the fun commence…

This year’s Tickled Pink activity officially launches on 21st September, when ASDA stores across the country will be partaking in a whole host of weird and wonderful fundraising activities. Over a two week period, ASDA colleagues will do everything in their power to raise as much money as possible – whether it’s immersing in a bath of pink blamanche or hosting a dance competition in the store foyer. Events in the past have included sponsored walks, swims and silences and some stores even offer up their store managers in a slave auction!

Customers will also be able to do their bit by buying Tickled Pink products in store, of which a percentage goes to the charity.

Karen Todd, Head of Community for ASDA commented, “I still find the success of Tickled Pink amazing. It’s great to see both customers and colleagues so actively engaged in the campaign.”
