By searching out the best products from local suppliers we bring our customers great food from around their region.
And this in turn helps local communities thrive and means we can reduce our food miles.
Our range of local products is growing every day. By forging relationships in the communities we serve, we are able to bring our customers the best products that are grown, reared or manufactured in their region. At the last count, our team was working with around 500 local specialist food producers, bringing more than 5000 local products to stores across the UK.
Our local sourcing team is made up of expert buyers based in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and also includes local marketing, technical and supply experts – whose jobs involve enlisting the support of local food bodies to find the best products the UK has to offer.

ASDA is able to bring customers the best products that are grown, reared or manufactured in their region.
Using local food hubs allows us to bring our customers goods grown on their doorsteps; offering a wider range to choose from and limiting our environmental impact.
That’s why those local suppliers who can’t deliver directly to our stores can use one of our growing number of regional distribution hubs. The hubs enable large numbers of local producers to deliver their products to one central point — cutting food miles, reducing their costs and helping their businesses grow.

Local food hubs increase choice and reduce ASDA’s environmental impact.
